A HOUSE WITH NO WALLS is a play that juxtaposes events in Philadelphia of the 1790’s and the early 2000’s.It tells the story of two of George Washington’s slaves as well as contemporary political factions wrestling over that history. The score was a mix of agitated contemporary music and an abstraction of early American music and the harmonic language of African American Spirituals. This piece served as the Curtain Call and Exit Music and was a fusion of a few different ideas heard during the play.
